Match the wrapping method
Hand application, turntable machines and power pre-stretch systems place different demands on roll weight, core, film stretch and unwind behaviour.
Specify around the pallet, the wrapper and the journey. WSD Pack coordinates stretch film enquiries for overseas wholesale and industrial use.
A useful film specification balances containment, puncture resistance, stretch behaviour, clarity, cling and application efficiency. Thickness alone does not tell the full story.
Hand application, turntable machines and power pre-stretch systems place different demands on roll weight, core, film stretch and unwind behaviour.
Uniform cartons, sharp corners, irregular components and open loads require different approaches to puncture resistance, holding force and film construction.
Exposure to dust, moisture, light, visibility requirements and storage conditions can affect colour, opacity, cling side and any specialised requirement.
Roll weight, usable film, application consistency and film consumed per pallet are needed for a meaningful commercial comparison.
Move through the decision fields. The final enquiry can begin with the details you already know.
Begin with the wrapper because that determines the practical roll format and stretch behaviour.
Share the current standard or describe the target format. Equivalent comparisons should keep net film and core details visible.
A representative pallet description is more useful than a generic request for “strong film”.
Carton count, pallet pattern, total volume and destination shape both unit economics and freight planning.
These are sourcing directions to evaluate, not a promise of fixed stock. The quotation confirms the final construction and availability.
| Route | Best starting point | Important checks | Useful buyer input |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand film | Manual wrapping and variable pallet profiles | Roll handling, cling, tear and operator consistency | Roll weight, width, thickness, pallet count |
| Machine film | Repeat wrapping on a compatible machine | Pre-stretch system, film break, holding force, roll dimensions | Machine model, settings and current film data |
| Pre-stretched film | Lower application force or controlled manual use | Residual force, roll format and load suitability | Pallet profile and current consumption |
| Special requirement | Colour, opacity, venting or agreed recycled content | Performance trade-offs, minimum volume and evidence | Exact function and acceptable tolerance |

Film rolls are dense, dimension-sensitive cargo. Carton construction, roll orientation, pallet stability, gross weight and moisture protection should be agreed alongside the product specification.
For CIF orders, the quotation defines the destination port and included freight and insurance scope. Import clearance, duties and post-arrival handling remain with the buyer unless separately agreed.
Understand CIF deliveryEven a partial specification is useful. We will identify the missing decision fields with you.
